This project is part of the Storm Drainage Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and is required to provide drainage improvements within the Harris Gully watershed and to reduce the flood potential to the Texas Medical Center, Rice University, Hermann Park and surrounding areas.
This project consists of approximately 4,680 linear feet of 10-ft x 6.5 ft, 10-ft x 10-ft, and 12-ft x 14-ft reinforced concrete box storm sewer, 590 linear feet of 18-inch, 24-inch, and 30-inch storm sewers, 60 linear feet of 45-inch x 29-inch elliptical sanitary sewer, and 385 linear feet of 8-inch and 12-inch water line. The storm sewer improvements will also include associated inlets, inlet leads, and laterals. The inlets and inlet spacing were designed based on the 5-year design rainfall event. From Tangley to 70-feet south of Bissonnet, the roadway pavement will be reconstructed full width concrete with curb and gutter.
