The project consists of two drainage areas of the Comprehensive Drainage Plan: C0020 north of Sims Bayou and C0016 south of Sims Bayou. The project area for C0020 is generally bounded by IH45 to the north, Sims Bayou to the south, Broadway to the east, and Dover to the west. The project area for C0016 is generally bounded by Sims Bayou to the north, Bellfort to the south, Glencrest to the east, and Broadway to the west.

Drainage analysis proposes an extreme storm event overflow that would provide relief and positive impacts at the intersection of Glen Dell and Stony Dell. The width of the extreme storm event overflow from Santa Elena to Sims Bayou, would require additional easement (15 feet). The design consultant estimates the construction cost of the extreme storm event overflow at $150K, excluding easement acquisition cost. Estimated construction duration is three (3) months.
