The Brays Bayou Detention Basin site is located at the southwest corner of Loop 610, south of Braeswood Blvd, and adjacent to Brays Bayou and Willow Waterhole. The project is located on Key Map 531R.

The project consists of construction of an approximately 200 ac-ft detention basin. A concrete weir installed at the common bank with Brays Bayou will control the flow of storm water into the basin from the bayou. The basin outfall restrictor is a 36-inch diameter storm pipe.
