Project Description

The project consists of the construction of new storm sewer to serve Fondren Village, Bonham Acres, Larkwood, and Braes Timbers. The new storm sewer along Fondren Rd. that outfalls into Brays Bayou consists of 5-foot by 3-foot reinforced concrete box storm sewer from Brays Bayou to Wanda, a segment of 4-foot by 3-foot reinforced concrete box sewer that transitions to 42-in. diameter reinforced concrete storm pipe until Ariel St. at which point it transitions to a 24-in. diameter storm pipe to Jackwood St. New 36-in. diameter storm pipe along Fondren from Tanager to Bissonnet connects to the existing storm sewer along the east side of Fondren. The new storm sewer along Sandpiper Dr., Grape Rd., Birdwood St., and McAvoy outfalls into the Bintliff Ditch. The storm sewer improvements will also include associated inlets and inlet leads. A detention basin will also be constructed on the south side of Reamer St. at Bob White Dr. at the north end of the City of Houston Water Plant Site. Associated with this project is replacement of the existing 16-in. water line on Fondren with a 16-in. water line. The existing water line on side streets impacted by storm system improvement work was also replaced.
